Why not give me a tax credit for paying for my own health insurance?

Whats the reasons that wouldn’t work? If you are poor you may qualify for state or federal assisted insurance. If not, and you and your employer pay for it, why not make it fair and give me a tax credit for not only providing for myself but also paying the taxes that pay’s the unemployed peoples insurance?

That is a proposed solution. However what about the people who work, but don’t have health insurance, such as small business owners.
